  • Autumn Colors at Longwood Gardens – Discover fall’s rich and varied colors at Longwood Gardens, one of the nation’s premier botanical gardens, featuring more than 11,000 species of plants and trees. Patrons are welcome to stroll the 86-acre Meadow Garden and Hourglass Lake for an unforgettable glimpse at multihued asters, meadow grasses and vibrant goldenrod, on view now through November 22.
  • Harvest Moon Festival – The Delaware Nature Society is hosting two days of family fun this year at Coverdale Farm Preserve in the gorgeous countryside of Greenville, DE. Festivities are planned for Saturday October 3 and Sunday October 4, when guests can enjoy hayrides, arts and crafts for kids, music performances, artisan demonstrations and killer food. Admission to the Harvest Moon Festival is free for DNS members and $5 for non-members.
  • Blackbird Creek Fall Festival – This FREE fall festival has been a local favorite since its beginnings in 2007. The event brings together talented artisans, live music, hands-on education demonstrations, kids activities celebrating the outdoors, a scavenger hunt and hay maze, opportunities for kayaking and hiking, and much more! Bring a blanket or a chair and head to Townsend for this popular autumn event on Saturday, October 17. Hours run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m, rain or shine.
  • Delaware Wine and Beer Festival – Get ready to sample the bold flavors of Big Reef Porter, Pumpkin Ale, Sundancer White IPA and other specialty brews at this year’s much anticipated Delaware Wine and Beer Festival. Tickets are selling fast for a chance to savor more than a 100 varieties of beer, wine, mead, and spirits crafted in DE. Nosh on gourmet sandwiches, BBQ, fresh seafood and other delicacies as you enjoy live music and an amazing array of libations against the picturesque backdrop of Dover’s Loockerman Village. Guests can also squeeze in some shopping with wares from more than 50 local artisans on sale. The festival is scheduled for Saturday, October 17 from noon – 5 p.m. Tickets allow unlimited samples and are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Shuttle and limo service is also available for an additional cost.
