3 Delaware Winter Festivals You May Not Know About
Delaware residents are a fortunate group, especially during the holiday season when popular attractions and quaint towns come alive with family-friendly celebrations. Winter festivals and holiday-themed events kick off in early November and can be found across the state on just about any given weekend.
Here’s a roundup of 3 winter festivals in Delaware you shouldn’t miss!
8th Annual Analog-A-Go-Go Festival
Head to the small hamlet of Milton for a long weekend of craft beer, exceptional food, and live music. While the Analog-A-Go-Go festival isn’t exactly holiday-themed, there will be tons of handcrafted treasures and unusual finds available for purchase. Headed up by Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, the festival runs from Friday, November 15 through Sunday November 17 and celebrates all things analog. There will be craft cocktails (Dogfish head whiskey anyone?) and unique cask beer, and the much-anticipated artisanal marketplace and live music at Brewings & Eats’ new stage. The outdoor marketplace will feature nearly two dozen merchants selling handmade art, terracotta pottery, crafts, vintage finds, jewelry, music accessories and rare LPs. Buy your tickets online from Dogfish Head for this outdoor event!
Holiday Festival Weekend at Lavender Fields Farm
Just a few miles from Rehoboth Beach off Route 9 is Lavender Fields Farm at Warrington Manor. If you haven’t yet visited this family-owned 5-acre farm, this is the time to do it! The farm is hosting their annual holiday festival weekend just after Thanksgiving. Stop by Friday, November 23 through Sunday, November 25 for fresh apple cider, holiday refreshments, and tons of fabulous lavender items. The onsite gift shop sells natural lavender bath and body products as well as fancy culinary items.
Winter Arts Festival at the Delaware Art Museum
The Delaware Art Museum in downtown Wilmington is celebrating with a Winter Arts Festival, geared especially for families. Held on December 7, from 12 Noon to 8 PM, the event will feature winter-themed art projects for kids, live performances from local choirs, seasonal decorations and locally-produced arts and crafts for sale. Fuel up for a day of fun at Toscana in the Museum’s Thronson Café, and if you have a membership, be sure to check out the special discounts at the museum store.
