Buyers Looking For Philadelphia Condos Choose Delaware Instead
In the market for Philadelphia condos? Try Delaware
Good news abounds for prospective homebuyers looking to move in or near Philadelphia in the coming months. The market is looking more robust than last year, and the purchasing climate is still favorable for buyers. Philadelphia’s Office of the Comptroller reports that monthly Philadelphia home sales are up 18.5% since June 2012. This welcome news signals that people are able to get credit and buy a home, the comptroller’s office added.
What homes for sale in Philadelphia do people want most?
This past June, 1,200 homes sold, especially in neighborhoods like South Philadelphia, Fishtown, Fairmount and Roxborough. Young buyers in their twenties and thirties are drawn to South Philadelphia. The area’s racial diversity, ample parking, fair housing prices, amazing Italian food and sport stadiums makes it a happening place to settle down – especially for people who grew up in the nearby suburbs.
Best of all, short sales and foreclosures are going down, while regular home sales are going up. Demand is high for renovated properties, one Philadelphia real estate agent told NBC News. “So investors are buying properties, fixing them and selling them to an end user. Those are the homes that are selling the fastest,” the agent added.
Now is the time to buy, say experts on Philadelphia condos and homes
Interest rates are still surprisingly low, but there have been talks of raising rates within a year, the comptroller’s office says. So, there is no doubt that it’s a perfect time to buy a new home. Spring and summer are traditionally the busiest times of the year, but one can find fantastic selection and deals once school starts in the fall.
