Can’t-Miss Fall Festivals in Greenville, DE

The cozy suburb of Greenville, Delaware, has a neighborly spirit and small-town charm. Yet, this close-knit community is just a short drive away from major amenities in Wilmington and elsewhere, including seasonal festivals. This fall, celebrate the season with the New Castle County Festival of Trees or pumpkin picking at Ramsey’s Farm. And if outdoor exercise is your passion, don’t miss the River Towns Ride & Festival!

River Towns Ride & Festival

Every year, the towns of New Castle and Delaware City collaborate together on a one-day festival and bike ride between the two towns. New Castle and Delaware City are about 10 miles apart from each other, and you can ride from one to the other on a bike-friendly route. This year, the River Towns Festival is taking place on October 22 with an official start time of 9 AM. You can begin your ride in either city for a chance to compete for a medal. Whichever city you end up in, be sure to be in Battery Park in New Castle for the post-ride festival. Enjoy live music, great food, brews, and games with your fellow riders!

Ramsey’s Farm Pumpkin Patch & Bonfire Nights

Get the most fun out of the fall season at Ramsey’s Farm in Wilmington, DE, located at 440 Ramsey Rd. Through October 30, pick your own pumpkins and gourds in their 10+ acre pumpkin patch, typically yielding 50,000 pumpkins per year – their largest pumpkin ever weighed in at 200 pounds! You don’t need a ticket to pick your own pumpkin, but you will need them for the other all-ages activities that locals return to year after year, such as the 10-acre corn maze, farm animal tours, and hay rides. After dark, you can party at the bonfire with perks such as extended nighttime hay rides through the valley. The pumpkin patch is open until 5pm on Friday-Sunday, with night events on Friday and Saturday from 6-9pm. Private bonfires are available by reservation.
